Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Steve did not start out by being an electrician. He went off to Toronto’s RCC School of Electronics. After he finished, he got a job right downtown Toronto within a block of the CN Tower. With in a few years and several trips home to see his family, Steve decided to come home where he eventually stated his apprenticeship in March of 1988. As the years went by, Steve worked for several electrical firms in town, and his experiences come from learning form his co-workers and other trades workers. Steve has worked on residential, commercial and industrial jobs. Some of the bigger ones are the new Court House, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre along with many other projects within the city and in the district. In February 2018, 5 Star Electric (Thunder Bay) Inc. was officially born.

Born and raised in southern Ontario, Matthew started his career in construction as a carpenter. In 2012, he switched his career path and was accepted into his first year as an Electrical Apprentice. In 2013 he moved to Thunder Bay, where he started to plan his dream of building and owning his first home. In 2018, two personally built homes later, Matthew completed his Electrical Apprenticeship, obtaining his Journeyman’s Electrical certification. Faced with a once in a lifetime opportunity, he immediately started working with Master Electrician Steve Homer to open 5 Star Electric (Thunder Bay) Inc. in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Matthew looks forward to continuing his Electrical career and seeing 5 Star Electric continue to grow.
Terry Homer (Picture coming soon) Apprentice
Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Terry decided to follow in his Father's footsteps. He began in September of 2019 and has proven to be a large part of the company. He has listened to the stories from his dad over his years, and now can add to those stories with his own. We are sure he will be apart of 5 Star Electric for many years to come.
